Stories, stories , stories. Everywhere you go there’s another story, from cradle to grave stories. Well Al’s Spectacular Birthday Gift is more of a very long parable. It’s an allegory. I am not concerned with my own literary greatness nor am I capable of it. But I can write a parable. Because in the end we have only our own objectively true story to stand on don’t we, yet there are tales that can impact our actual true story for the better. So here it is, my attempt at that, my contribution , if you will, to all the stories you have heard ‘Al’s Spectacular Birthday Gift’. Would you like to hear this story? Oh yes, the plot, the plot is this , there’s a boy named AL , he’s a bit of a loner and he likes to invent things, well he is about to turn 12. He is on vacation (or holiday) with his mum at the old lake house where she grew up . It’s in a small town with some eccentric characters, one of whom is about to give him an unexpected gift, could this be his greatest birthday yet ?
