About Josie’s Wales.
You have to pick a beginning for any venture and I chose to begin with art, or more specifically ‘the arts’ because that is the industry I was drawn into in my childhood. Not for fame or fortune, I have never had any interest in those things, and having tasted a bit of fame in my younger years , all I will say is, it made me crave anonymity.
This 30 minute video was made at a point in my time, when I thought landscape painting might be the answer to my then prayers, after all everyone loves landscapes and they sell. BUT and it’s a big but, I hit a glitch , firstly I was dreadful at them, I had not the talent to produce something even I would hang on my walls. Secondly I have lived in cities my entire life and so landscapes are that thing I goggle at mesmerised through train windows, or at least they were until I took on Josie’s Wales. I decided to go around Wales because it is where I was born and see if I could teach myself to paint it. That was my starting point, but that’s not what happened, this is …
