Scroll down to watch a short video of me on the stage at London’s Southbank Centre rehearsing for Wynton Marsalis’ A Fiddler’s Tale , words by Stanley Crouch . This small clip is narration only .
I have been fortunate to so far narrate two amazing pieces with orchestra for live audiences. My current repertoire consists of just these two works so far 🙏🏾
The Fiddler’s Tale by Wynton Marsalis is the latest addition to my repertoire and boy did I have a blast with this one. I was over the moon when The Chineke ! Orchestra asked me to narrate this piece for them, and gave me carte blanche to make it my own. A huge honour and a great pleasure. We performed in June 2025 at the Warwick Arts Centre in Coventry and then finally at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London’s South Bank Centre. An incredible experience for which I will be forever grateful , for more reasons than I can say. But if you want to find out more about my interpretation of this extraordinary piece , I’ve written a bit about it in my Sanctuary, and if you scroll down this page you can see the poster I made and a short video of me rehearsing some of the narration. Huge thanks if you came to see the show 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
The other piece in my rep is Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf which I have performed in Manchester and Sheffield alongside the Manchester Camerata .
This fun story for all ages really celebrates chidlhood, innocence, courage and faith . The music is flawless, jthe text an absolute joy to perform, a real delight of a concert and one of my all time favourite jobs. Rehearsal images below .
